Berene Campbell is a modern quilt designer, teacher, speaker and community project coordinator from Vancouver, BC. She has initiated projects such as To Boston with Love, the Toronto Love Project, Quilts for Refugees, Badass Quilt, the Sisterhood Quilt Swap and Asian Love Banners. Berene’s quilt designs are purpose driven, each with its own story of inspiration behind it. She uses her work to raise funds and awareness of social justice issues, and to bring people together, harnessing collective energy to make the world a kinder, more peaceful place. In 2020 Berene initiated the Handmade Collective Awards, a bursary ( financial aid) fund for BIPOC, Indigenous and 2SLGBTQ+ students at Ryerson University in Toronto.
